“The Hidden Atrium, yes ... yes, so many before even I have sought out, but I’m afraid my dear, that never has there been record of anyone acquiring such a rare treasure... and I believe I’m fairly certain one would not deny it’s findings” He clasped his hands together and looked around his study, filled with all sorts of rear exotic instruments many of which seemed held by a mere memory of its former self
“For centuries now folklorist have spun its tale around about the Hidden Atrium many have come to believe that is within these very walls.” Finishing with a deep shy Alexander made a sudden motion pointing through the glass window towards the great hall and around the room, his robes flowing with his movement
“The Atrium is said to promise the finder ascendancy, nobility, glory, and unfathomable knowledge. There, of course, have been various few who have even refuted its very existence, that it is a mere childhood legend, a story in which was created to give you welcoming dreams at night. Those us who believe in such a tale have found traces of its roots dated back from the earliest of times according to most accounts.” He smiled before finding himself once again behind his desk
“And so that, my dears, is the story of the Hidden Atrium.” the room was oddly silent, the eyes of the students seemed to be wide open, as if someone had just popped out of the broom closet
The quiet was broken with the sudden interdiction of Professor Lena Lilac, “Oh to what great honor do I owe the visit from you, Lena?” He said noting to the students as the professor entered his study
Lena Lilac had just walked into the room to deliver a parchment to Alexander when she caught the final words of his explanation of the Hidden Atrium. She shook her head as she got to Alexander's side.
"Would you stop filling their heads with nonsense , Honestly students there is no such thing as the Hidden Atrium, that myth was just made up to keep people searching and to give them something to do . Believe me when I say the whole story is just a figment of someone’s imagination that has been hugely exaggerated through out the years. Many people have spent their whole lives searching for something that doesn't exist and they greatly regret it in the end!"
She watched the student all look shocked as she had began to speak, it didn't take long for them to all start talking to each other at once about everything they both of them had said.
"I advise you all to take this as nothing more then a fictional story because that is all it is, something to entertain you and to intrigue your imagination".
She looked over at Alexander and just shook her head as she glared at him in that "you shouldn't have told them anything sort of way”.
With a nod of his head to continue, interlocked his fingers and rested them on his desk; arched his shoulders and continued to smile as Professor Lena spoke. “Very well said, very well said indeed my dear."
[/i] He stopped and thought before he proceeded. “But, I must say if my memory serves me correct, and I may be old but I believe I still have my memories, it was you who believed this story as a child.” Finishing with a reassuring smile, she looked over towards him, shrugging her shoulders back she soon looked back at the students. "I was foolish in my younger years and I was foolishly mesmerized by this story as most are because it made me believe in something that no one has been able to find. It made me think that maybe I had a chance to find it, but I grew up and learned how to pick the truth out of fairy tales. Unlike someone I will leave unmentioned " She said with a grin and a slight laugh He let out a slight chuckle “Amusing my dear Lena, well to say you’ve grown up I think we’d be saying too much.” He amused himself with the thought of his youth “I don’t expect most to believe such a tale, as you’ve stated numerous times you, do not, Lena.”“I must say, however, it is a flaw to disregard fictional tales that may or may not be true.” The smile faded from his face, his eyes seemed to whiten as if in a trance “The flaws of humanity … injustice to us all I’m afraid.” A single tear ran down his cheek, silence was once again, he smiled at his students before ushering them to their next class [/blockquote]

Lena watched as the students all got up and left to their next classes. She smiled to each one as the door closed with a loud thud. She turned back to Alexander and frowned
"You really shouldn't put that stuff into their heads Alex! Do you want them to be like we were when we were younger? or how you still are ? Going Through life thinking, even searching for something that NO ONE has found nor will they ever. If they were like us when we were that age they will do everything in their lives with the thought of the Hidden Atrium nagging at them with every thought. Is that what you want for them ? Thats definitely not what i want for them because its not something that is just harmless and childish Alex it over takes many peoples minds. It almost took over my mind and i still think its doing it to yours. Don't you see any of this?"
She paced around the desks once or twice before she looked back at him and took a deep breath before she began to speak again.
"Please just stop filling our students heads with this, they are all better off not knowing about the hidden atrium at all . Everyone would be better off not knowing about it but i cant stop others from telling the story but i can try and stop you "
She stopped pacing right in front of his desk and just stared at him waiting for his reaction to everything she had said. She didn't know what was about to come out of his mouth but she kinda feared it ,while at the same time it intrigued her.

“Speculation arose that it is in these halls, ever since we’ve come here I’ve looked. I went to work in the ministry and for years I searched everywhere imaginable, Lena, and I couldn’t find it. Every time I thought the possibility of discovery was in my grasp something or someone popped into my life.” He looked away from her for a moment as yet another tear ran down his face
“I’ve so many regrets in my life, and you are one of them. We both can’t deny we’ve grown old and apart these latter years of our lives. We took different paths; you always did have a knack for that transfiguration stuff.” Smirking he thought about their first meeting, how she turned his left eyebrow yellow and he tarnished her necklace
“I, my dear, am certain this story is far more hidden behind the years of fiction then anyone will ever understand. I believe there is an atrium, either here or there, I’ve looked but possibly I’ve always looked for the wrong thing. Maybe I’ve had it all my life, maybe we all do, Maybe Lena its love and not all these promises of grander the story tells us it conceals.” He got to his feet and began to walk alongside her
He flicked his wand and the door sealed itself, he motioned her to follow him over to a pensive. “I do not believe I’ve ever shown this to someone before.” He titled a vial he pulled from his robe and the memories swirled around the stone basin
A mist filled the room and in front of both of them was a swing set with a young boy, from a good glance could pass for nine but was much shorter then the kids around. The sky overhead was ablaze with color, orange and red tones streaked the sky as the clouds hindered the little real visible sun. “Hey that’s that freak, he supposedly can do magic or something so my parents say.” A big robust boy walked into the scene with three close companions near by
“I don’t believe it but mum and dad say so.” The second kid chirped up, dodging the stern looks of the bully in the middle before quieting himself
“Well freak, are you magic, can you do anything.” The ring leader pushed the kid off the swing into the dirt, raising his fist
A black swirl flushed away the memory, leaving the room like a fog lifting off the mornings ground.
“I’m afraid; my memory fails me after that.” he stopped and quickly continued "So Lena, some of us tend to believe in the greater good

Lena stood next to Alex trying so hard to find the words to say to him that would reveal her secret.
"Alex did you know that probably until i was 30 or so i still searched for the Atrium... Did you know that?" she said now sitting down on his desk .
"I got my job at the Magical Spell Law Enforcement Agency so that i could travel to different places and make it look like i was there for my work but all the while looking for the Atrium. I became so overtaken by this that i couldn't think of anything else.I felt like finding this was the only thing that would reunite me and you and that would get me my best friend back. It wasn't until my 31st birthday that i realized everything that i was doing was a major waste of time."
She now stood up and began pacing the room again, doing everything in her power to keep from looking at him.
"The only reason i think i was snapped out of the Atrium's clutch was because i fell in love with the man that turned into my husband, because of him i thought about other things and i realized that the story of the Hidden atrium was nothing but a sick unhealthy story to keep people under its spell and to keep people searching for something that didn't exist, which is when my very highly dislike of everything to do with the Atrium began."
She paced back and forth around the room a couple more times as she continued.
"It wasn't until the death of my husband 5 years later that i really wanted to find the Atrium again, don't get me wrong that thought was always in my mind but i always had other things to keep my mind busy . I went searching for the Atrium again but with a stronger desire to find it . My search brought me back here to Hogwarts where it all had begun. I don't know why but all of the memories of me and you flooded back the second i stepped foot here, and then my mind had something else to think about. You see when i first began to search for the Atrium it was because i couldn't remember the memories of me and you because the Atrium story took over my mind . Once i got here everything came flooding back and i could remember everything we had ever said to each other and it made me forget all about the stupid desire to find what i had wanted so long to get. "
Lena Walked over to Alex and looked right at him.
"Through out my whole life the story of the Atrium has been nagging at me i always believed that it would bring me happiness but I've been wrong all along . With every breath i take there isn't a second i don't think about it but i have learned to suppress those thoughts and live my life the way i want to . This is what i wish you would do . Forget about everything we learned as kids Alexander , live your life as if you never heard the story of the Hidden Atrium. Your preventing yourself from being happy and living fully because you are still so wrapped up in this silly fairy tale. Do you remember what you said to me the day we parted on the last day of our seventh year at Hogwarts?"
She looked up at him waiting for his answer but she shook her head and grabbed his hand pulling him over to the pensive where she raised her wand to her head and pulled out a long silver memory and dropped it in.
The scene instantly transformed into the platform besides the Hogwarts express. Standing a couple feet away from the present Lena and Alex was the past versions of them . They were both standing facing each other talking .
"Lena we wont be away from each other forever i promise one day we will see each other again and find the atrium together." the young Alex said smiling down at her
"Do you think we will ever find the Atrium Alexander? Do you think it even exists?" the young Lena said staring back up at him.
Of course it exists and of course we will find it , together and hey if we don't then life will go on. We will always have our friendship Lena you can count on that." [/i][/b] They both hugged as the scene ended and they both found themselves back in present time. "See back then it didn't matter if we found it or not . Why cant it go back to that Alexander? Why cant you just forget about the stupid Atrium and move on with your life?? I understand that you believe it will help you and that it will make everything better but i don't think so i really don't . I believe it will only cause more trouble and heart break. "Lena sat back down on Alexander's desk and turned her face away from him so he couldn't see her cry. [/color][/blockquote]
