Knowing the owner of the Hog's Head made it easy for Septimus to gain access to the bar. The owner owed him a favour for saving him from going to trial for selling firewhiskey to minors. He hesitated when Septimus suggested using the bar as a meeting place for his new organization. It would bring business. Septimus suggested before reminding him of the favour. The owner did not hesitate again.
When Septimus arrived, there were a fair amount of people in the cramped venue. Most of the wizards looked shifty and the witches looked like hags. But amongst these suspicious characters there were a handful of faces he knew. Fellow Hit Wizards, various members of of the Ministry, and even some shopkeepers from Hogsmeade. Although he was looking through a sheet of blackness from behind the mask, he could see perfectly through the dim bar. He smirked behind the mask at the skeptical and anticipated faces of the people waiting. He could see Cyrus sitting by himself at a table directly in front of all of the others. Septimus went to him. He didn't say anything. They simply looked at eachother and knew it was time.
Septimus stood on the chair across from Cyrus and began to speak. The crowd slowly began to quiet down to listen to what this crazy wizard had to say.
"Thank you all for coming tonight. I am not one to usually speak in public but I assure you, we share the same concerns and it is about time that they are spoken aloud. I come to you tonight to discuss our Ministry of Magic. For the past 20 years, I have been an employee of the Ministry. I obediently did as I was told and worked directly with the Minister himself most of the time. He ordered me to kill, torture, and control innocent people to get a truth that never existed. For the past few years his only goal has been to control Hogwarts and dispose of the Headmaster, Alexander Verto. Where was he when this community was in turmoil? He was focusing on a school for teenagers. Where was he during the Werewolf civil war? He was plotting ways to kill a man in which he's held a personal grudge against for years! What is wrong with this picture, you may ask? Our Minister is wasting time, lives, power, money, everything on trivial things! Not too long ago, he kidnapped a young wizard from Hogwarts. He had an employee torture him, trying to force information about Verto out of him. The child knew nothing! He could have died and for what purpose? For a bitter man's greed? When we appointed Alveredus W. Whittaker as Minister, we were promised freedom, protection and so much more. After all of this time, Whittaker has only given us lies! This is the time for change. A change in power and a change on the way things are run. This is the time for revolution and I'm asking you to join me. We can change the wizarding world and make it strive like it did many years ago. Join me and we can change the world!" He finished and climbed off of the chair. A few people clapped. Many were nodding while a few still seemed skeptical.
Septimus didn't care. His words were out and, like Cyrus said, they would now spread. He moved towards his partner.
"I had a brilliant idea for recruiting. Tonight, once we are done here, we will go to Azkaban."
