His walk around the castle lake was a distant memory and the first dinner of the year had managed to linger only on a whim in his memories. His appetite was still nonexistent and he managed to only spoon in a few bites of the lukewarm potato soup. The night concluded with a wonderful rendition of the Hogwarts song by a group of nervous, jittering first years from Gryffindore.
“Must be to cheer us all up, but how could we possibly be cheered up while the ministry is breathing on our neck here.” Said a fellow Ravenclaw student cattycorner to Ace
The headmistress clapped her hands and asked the head of house to usher each of the first years to there common rooms and with a hint as if she knew what went on that the fifth years might try hard to make it there this year. Ace let out a little chuckle knowing she knew exactly what the fifth years do, and when they just happen to find themselves particularly the spot in which they should not be. Clearwater passed a rather strange looking Hufflepuff nearly bumping into him as if he had not even noticed Ace; he made a mental note to himself.
Finally, Ace had arrived in front of the common room portrait and found out he was the only one there. “Ahem, Late again Mr Clearwater, have we been going on another little stroll to talk to that little friend of yours, ah what is her name.” The portrait kept muttering on about her suspicion of a relationship
“That girl, is Professor Lilac’s daughter and further more may I just have the question.” Ace replied pointing his finger at the lady in the portrait that whom from her gasp was unaware the relationship between the girl and the professor
“Certainly, Mr Clearwater I apologize for my rudeness.” She stopped and made a rather strange sucking noise as if one was cleaning spinach from their teeth “What would one be without his wand?” asking him in a soft tone not to awake the other portraits “One would be naked without his wand.” Ace laughed and smiled at her
“Traditional not quite, though the response Mr. Clearwater was bloody well brilliant … Bloody well brilliant indeed, oh sorry come on in.” The portrait swung itself open and Ace climbed through only a group of third years remained in a dimly light room Even in his fifth year Ace was awed at the sheer massiveness of the statue in the corner that depicted the house founder, Rowena Ravenclaw. Ace always had thought she was a rather beautiful woman when drawn but he has seen prettier girls but doubted any smarter.

He was unaware of the time but when the last third year left the room and climbed through one of the doors towards the dormitories. Being a star quidditch player put Ace on a different pedestal then his other teammates. Every mistake he made seemed to be amplified and magnified as if it was the reason they lost the match. The memory of last year’s midair collision swirled through his head; his arm was still weak from the fall. He finally decided to make the ascent up to his welcoming bed, he rubbed his wrist and moved past the statue towards the right and began to climb the staircase.
He crept through the dorm and found his awaiting bed, he took off his clothes and slipped on his pajamas and sat down on the end of his bed, sliding into his sheets as soon as his head hit the pillow he was fast asleep.
The room swirled with white smoke as If a fire had started outside the door, the smoke covered his vision and he color barley see a few inches in front of him. A shadow in the distance stood there, from what ace could make out it was she, the same girl whom he had always wanted to tell his deep inner emotions to but never managed to. He had secluded himself form her, and she had not known his true feelings. The girl began to run as the scene changed itself to a forest, ace picked up his own pace and was now running but the closer he got it seemed the further away she got.
He jerked awake on his bed, the sun was shining in through the window, and he was unaware what had happened. It seemed for the longest time all he could do was lay, lay there and think.
