Alexander swirled his wand like a sword defending a king, bravely flicking and swooshing the black smoke like a hot knife through butter. His remarkable talents were being pushed as the smoke began to clear, screams coming from every direction and what Alexander could not see through the smoke was the dread that lay ahead. Obviously it was another tactic of the ministry to spook Hogwarts and Alexander. Verto braced himself against the ground, his wand still frantically moving around him which induced a sense of amazement towards him and his wandmanship.
He had managed to clear the smoke through his spells though the destruction that lettered the courtyard was indescribable. The once admirable courtyard was crumbled, the benches tossed around like rag dolls of a child, the fountains gargoyles were no more and the archways were simply un-repairable. None of this was the worst, students lay groaning against the ground, others panic stricken with fear that they couldn’t handle another sound.
He sat down holding his heavy head within his frail hands, his wand tucked away in his robe as Lena Lilac and daughter joined him.
“I don’t know Lena, I don’t know if we can go on like this. It took all I had to banish them from the castle and I’m afraid my magic can only hold up so long.” His hands retracing the spells his had just done, the motions felt so routine for such a marvelous wizard the other staff had joined the headmaster and headmistress, brandishing their wands waiting orders. Professor Sicoft came rushing out of the castle, obviously from his arms he had been arm deep in potions, the nurse rushed to the aid of the children began to swirl his wand to do anything she could to help.
“I’ve put up my own defensive spells; perhaps the rest of you will do anything you know to protect this castle.” The headmaster spoke, arriving on his feet to whisper something in the ear of Lena Lilac “I don’t know my dear…” Arriving in her ear he had already moved passed her, his robes following behind as he made his way into the castle

As Lena got outside the scene around her was indescribable. There was so much damage to their once magnificently beautiful school that she couldn't help but almost mourn over. She looked around at the students who lay on the ground injured and shaken up. She shook her head and walked over to Alexander's side. As he began to talk she continued to look around but at the same time listened intently to him.
" We have done our best so far to keep this castle safe and i think we have done a pretty good job doing it but I'm not sure how much longer we can keep doing this. We aren't young folks anymore Alexander, an end needs to come on this war between us and the ministry and soon. I fear for the lives of not only our students but ours as well" she spoke slowly turning back to him.
Alexander had slowly walked past her by this time and she watched him walk into the castle. She walked over to the nurse and asked if there was anything she could do to help but she shook her head and waved her arm for her to go into the castle. Lena sighed and began to walk into the castle when she heard someone let out a heart wrenching scream and she knew right away who it was from.

Beth followed her mother outside , she did everything in her power to stop crying but it wasn't working. Stray tears slide down her face every few seconds. As she got out onto the steps she instantly saw Alixas passed out on the bottom step. She rushed over to her and neeled down to see if she was ok, she was still breathing which was a relief. Seconds later Beth was rushed out of the way so that the nurse could get to her.
Beth moved out of the way and slowly began to walk around , trying to step over the debris. She looked around trying to find Ace but there was no sign of him anywhere. She called out to him but no one replied.Out of all the students that lay on the grounds he wasn't with them. Her heart broke and she tried to grasp the concept of what had happened. She shook her head as a million things that could of happened entered her mind.
"Hes dead, he's laying in a hole somewhere on the grounds, he was blown into the forbidden forest." Those horrible thoughts ran through her mind and she couldn't help but scream and fall to her knees. She tried so hard to think good things , like hes safe in the castle . Or hes just hiding from it all. But deep down inside she knew something horrible had happened. But at this moment she didn't know how bad it really was.

Lena walked over to her daughter and picked her up and let her cry . She looked around looking for Ace as well but like her daughter she saw no sign of him.All she saw were the many injured students and the staff working hard to get them into the castle .
She pulled her daughter away so that she could look at her. " He's fine,we will find him i promise. Hes probably just somewhere on the grounds." She said wiping the tears off of Beth's face. As she said this a loud pop was heard and something floated down to the ground right by Lena's feet.
Lena bent down and picked it up and riped it open to read what it said. Her heart stopped for a second and she let a small scream as she read the contents of the note. The worst thing that could possibly happen had just happened. She brought her hand up to her mouth as tears began to slide down her face. She used the other hand which the letter was in to cover her heart . She shook her head and then only seconds later she turned around and ran into the castle and up the stairs. You wouldn't think that a women of 75 could run that fast but she did , she ran as fast as her feet could take her to Alexanders office.
She ran through the door and screamed." ALEX, THEY'VE TAKEN ONE OF OUR STUDENTS". She then handed the letter to him and stood there trying to catch her breath as more tears ran down her face. She didn't even turn her head to look at Beth when she came in the door right behind her.

Alixas awoke a few minutes after Beth and her mother had disappeared into the castle. Waving the nurse off, with quite a bit of difficulty as the nurse was trying to stop her wounds from bleeding, Alixas got up and slumped her way after them, struggling the whole way. She grasped onto walls and statues, anything that she could use to hold herself up really. Her wounds hadn't been healed quite yet and were still open, bits of rock falling out of her hair. She left blood on the walls as she went, mentally scolding herself, she would be made to clean it later no doubt.
She was panting for air as she came up behind Beth. "B-B-Beth...what...what happe..." she couldn't finish her sentence as she was catching her breath. Alixas slid to the floor, holding her chest, and pressing a cloth she found on the way up to her wound on the back of her head. The piece of decoration, or statue, or whatever had hit her, had hit her hard.
She looked up at the others in the room. "W..wh..what is it?....what have I m..mi...missed?" the tension in the room was thick enough that she knew, something else had happened, and it wasn't good.
