What was up with the common room lately? It seems like everyone has been avoiding it like it contains the latest plague that everyone seems so worried about. Not that Elias minded much, it was nice to have the large leather sofa to himself to kick back and relax.
Having not seen the other common rooms (although there was that one time where he was inches away from sneaking into the Ravenclaw Commons...), Elias was convinced that the Gryffindor Commons felt more like home than any other part of the school. It was, dare he say it, cozy and it made him strangely homesick. So much so he was willing to catch up on some long over due letters.
That's how he found himself here, letters sprawled all over the place and a quill in hand. It's amazing how many relative come out of the woodwork when you're in school, it's like they are under the impression that you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time.
But there was one letter that he saved for last. The one to his mother. Just the thought of it made him laugh, she was seriously over protective and always wrote to make sure he was using the proper gear when testing out potions and such. Ah, she was probably having a fit because he didn't answer promptly.
With a heavy sigh, Elias dipped his quill into the ink and started the long process of catching up.
