Beth laughed as she watched Sicoft come back into the classroom and take points from Ace. She was still laughing as he left the room once again. She watched Ace push ALixas and then watched as she fell and the book landed on her head. She stopped laughing at this time and stood up extending an arm out to her to help her up off the ground. She reached out and smacked Ace in the arm as she heard laughing come from all around the room. One laugh was louder then the others and once she helped Alixas up she turned around to see who it was. Micira Blackfern was laughing hysterically from behind them.
Beth frowned at her and shook her head, it really wasn't that funny. As class ended she placed her stuff back into her bag and slung it around her arm as Ace began to talk to Micira. Beth wasn't one to hold grudges but with Micira it was definitely a different story. She still didn't like her nor forgave her for what she had done to her friends months prior to this. She waited for Alixas to grab her stuff before they both walked out into the corridor to find Ace and Micira still talking. She wanted to hit her as she heard her say she thought it was funny that he couldn't play quidditch. In her opinion that wasn't something funny at all.
She stood quietly behind Ace just listening to them go back and forth , it wasn't her business to get into but she had every right to listen. She watched as Ace took off down the corridor at an incredibly fast pace. She stood there for a minute or two just staring at Micira before she shook her head and took off down the corridor after Ace. She knew Alixas was behind her as she ran but she needed to catch up with Ace before she lost him in the many secret passages through out the school. She heard odd rumbling through out the castle, the kind she had never heard before but she pushed past the sound and continued to go after Ace.
She spotted him climbing the staircase to the sixth floor. She was out of breath and tired by the time she got to the sixth floor and she then stopped and just yelled. "Ace ...Wait..Not so Fast" She hoped he had heard her because it came out more like broken fragments of a sentence then an actual sentence.

Her sentence trailed off as the door closed behind him, his jabbed his wand at the lock so she couldn't make entrance. Thought after all this was the sixth floor stall for the Quidditch players, the sign on the door made note of that. He couldn't think of anything to say to her, he was distraught, that Gryffindor girl was right. He had lost his precious quidditch after all; he had nothing left but his friends.
The pain he had felt that day at the ministry was nothing compared to the pain he felt today. While it consisted of no actual physical pain, the emotional pain was unbearable. He let himself slid towards the floor, his head banging against the door in emotion.
His eyes began to swell up as if red ants were biting the lids, tears streamed down rolling off his cheeks and bouncing to the floor. Everything felt empty – he lost his quidditch, he was loosing everything he had love for. His wand fell to the floor, tiny sparks jetted across the bathroom’s floor and halted before disappearing at the other side.

Beth continued to follow him but she stopped outside the door that he had just entered. She jiggled the handle of the door but he had locked it . She thought about pulling out her wand and trying to open it that way but she knew if he locked it he didn't want her in there. She knocked on the door twice and then waited to see if he said anything but he didn't.
She sighed and then knocked again this time she began to talk to him through the door. "Ace , don't let her bother you. She only says stuff like that because she knows it will get under your skin and upset you. Thats why you cant let it. " She stated sincerely. " I know when she mentioned quidditch it hurt you but just remember theres always next year and then our final year. You wont be away from quidditch forever. You will get back out there and show them that you are the best quidditch player there ever was and ever will be " She meant every word she said . She then leaned up against the wall and waited.
"Please open up Ace" She whispered as she continued to lean against the wall. She wasn't going to move from that spot until he opened the door.

Ace was not going to let her win, becoming submissive against a twat was against his nature and he wasn't planing to change face this late in the game. He collected himself, withdrawing his wand he flipped the notch open and walked out to Beth.
"You were always a typical stubborn Hufflepuff, I'll give you that much." He chuckled, embracing her body against his for a reassuring hug
Slowly strolling along the wall for what felt like an eternity, dazed, not speaking letting the outside world keep silence between them. The snow pelted the great castle, magic keeping out the harsh unknowns where they belonged. He wanted to say more than what was being said, which had been nothing, but that was exactly what stayed. The castle was enchanted that night, though the commotion of earlier gave it that restlessness that made it unencumbered. Portraits followed by footsteps, tapping in a rhythm that felt more like the heart beat of the castle rather than their own.

Beth smiled as she heard Ace unlock the door and watched him walk out. She hugged him back and then began to walk with him down the corridor. "Hey thats the exact reason i was put in hufflepuff, i wasn't put there just because I'm amazing" She joked as she nudged him with her elbow.
They walked in peace for awhile. The silence of the castle was almost deafening , but at the same time it made her feel an odd combination of calmness and uneasyness. After everything that had gone on it felt almost frightening for it to be this quiet. She looked over at Ace every now and again but then returned to looking down at the moving carpet as they walked.
She thought about that Gryffindor girl and each time her face popped into her mind she became irritated. At that moment a thought popped into her mind and she stopped dead in her tracks. She looked up at Ace and grinned wickedly.
" I just got the most amazing idea for revenge on that girl, that is of course if you don't think vengeance is too childish for us?" She folded her arms and continued to stand there staring at him.

"I believe Verto and your mom would frown on us plotting our revenge. I think she'll get her just dessert in due time. While I like most always are tempted to do something vicious I don't think we need to." He smirked, revenge would be so sweet but he thought of the repercussions that could follow and with the Ministry acting against Hogwarts perhaps it was not the best of times to be looking towards revenge
Pacing themselves they soon returned near the great hall - the snow was thrashing itself against the wooden doors to the courtyard. The headmaster would be not too keen on the idea of them being so close to the outside at this hour, but it felt right. He withdrew his wand and pointed it at the wooden doors. "Alohamora!" swiping his wand through the air, the doors did not budge but gave an unsettling rattle.
Confused he stuck his wand out again, this time clearing his throat and speaking slowly. "Aloha-mora!" again the doors did not open, they stayed sealed as if to keep them from leaving. He looked towards Beth as if she held the answer to opening the door, her mother might have mentioned something in passing about the new security. "How do we get out?" He inquired
