The nestled village felt more like a fairytale then an actual village, the antique gingerbread styled houses were perfectly aligned leaving only a hop skip and jump to talk to a neighbor. The younger woman that had discovered Ace treated the older woman much like a daughter would to a mother, stowing away her wand as to not attract any further attention to her. “I told you, I told you Adeline not to use your magic outside like that. Heavens, don’t you know what they would do to us if they caught you.” Her mother went on and on about not using magic until the younger woman agreed and walked through the doorway into the kitchen
Hours had past and many sips of skele-grow later Ace’s broken bones were on the mend, his wand safely hidden away for him and through all this action that had since aspired he had not awoken. The smell of fresh tea filled the room as the young lady, now known as Adeline brought and sat the cup down next to Ace. The smell was over powering and through his nostrils he finally peered through his eyelids, the older woman staring at him as a child would a strange animal. “M-m-my wand, where, who …” He fumbled with his words for awhile, hushed by the reassurance that there would be no further harm to him by the old woman he slipped away into a sleep once again
“The owl should’ve been there ages ago, I wonder what is keeping that old bird.” She grumbled only silenced by the owl arrival, perched on the seal peering through the window. “Oh I thought the worst, thankfully Headmaster Verto has received the letter and be on his way shortly.” She spoke unsure of herself, her ability to successfully alert the school that they have a boy that may belong to them through her old owl
The moon had advanced into the spot the sun had once occupied, shining brightly against the snow on the ground it felt much more like dawn then a quarter past the eleventh stroke. Two loud cracks were heard followed by a third; the three cloaked figures spoke a few words to each other before agreeing and proceeding. Light emitting from the tip of their wands, strolling through the gate of the house where Ace had been brought finally reaching the door and stashing away their wands. One of them reached out for the doors knocker, rapping three times before the door swung up as a sign to come in. The first to enter was an again man, his long gray beard dissolved by the wind. Once inside the three, two wizards and a witch each well preserved in old aged cleaned themselves off with a flick of their wands and walked into the foyer. “Is this the boy…?” The gentlemen asked the older woman, the witch trudged over to the boy, curiously prodding him with her finger, checking to see if it was an actual boy “What happened to him?” She inquired, his face not mended yet by magic and his hands notably still bruised and burned “W-we were hoping you could explain that to us, we were wondering ourselves why my daughter could simply happen upon such a young boy in a forest like that.” She looked away; the forest and what it held seemed to shake her insides around “Well, this is the boy he spoke of is it not. ‘Master wouldn’t want us to take a decoy back.” A third voice spoke up, now moving over to where the witch stood to examine the boy for himself
“You wouldn’t happen to have gotten a name from him, would you?” The most prominent wizard asked, settling himself down on the chair brushing away the offer of tea from the daughter
“No, see, that’s just it we haven’t managed to keep him awake very long and he only stuttered a few ineligible words to me and my daughter only a few hours before you arrived. I would imagine he’d be a Hogwarts student so I wrote the headmaster up there alerting them, and somehow you’ve arrive on my doorstep inquiring about him.”
“Yes, that’d be the boy then, I suppose we ‘ought to bring him back to Hogwarts with us anyway. Alexander would be wanting a word before he is sent off to mend at St Mungos.” That being the most sensible option they covered the boy in a jacket, after failing to arouse him from sleep and thanked the mother and daughter for such warm hospitality and set off leaving the village as fast as he had arrived

It had been many , many hours since the attack happened . The castle was almost completely quiet seeing as it was 2 am . The only thing that was really heard was the snoring of the occasional portrait and the shuffling of Beth Lilacs feet on the castle floor as she walked through the castle. Sleep wasn't an option for her right now, there were so many things swimming through her mind that it would be impossible for her to close her eyes and drift off to sleep. So she walked all around the castle thinking about the events that had happened earlier. Even though it was past curfew not one person said a word to her about being in bed.
She still couldn't believe that all of this was happening. How was it possible that her best friend had been taken to only god knows where, having only god knows what done to him. She feared more then anything that she would never see him again. She didn't even want to think about him dying at the hands of the ministry so she tried to think of different things. Such as her first time meeting Ace, when he ran smack dab into her and knocked her on her butt. Also the day that he hid under the table to keep away from his quidditch captain and how he smelled highly of rotten eggs most of that day. She smiled through her tears at the memories as she continued to shuffle her way around the castle.
She slowly made her way down the stairs , stopping every now and again as the staircase changed positions. She had no idea where she was going but all she knew was that she couldn't just be still and wait for everything to go down. She had to be on the move , her thoughts seemed to flow more freely as she walked. She was watching a painting of a lady and her dog sleep, when the huge front doors opened up and then slammed themselves shut again. She only knew this by the sound, she wasn't in viewing range. She walked slowly around a corner and just managed to see three people with a body floating between them rushing up the stairs toward what she thought had to be her mothers or Vertos offices.
As she looked at the floating body for the split second she could see,she saw matted hair and a faint part of a bloody and beaten face and her heart seemed to jump out of her chest with hope and her mind began to swirl with curiosity." Is it possible.." she whispered to herself. She then screamed "Hey wait" trying to get their attention but it was no use, they were moving too fast. The painting of a man in a chair stirred awake and screamed. " I'm trying to sleep here go away." She payed him no attention as she began to run up the stairs and around corners to her mothers office. Could it really be? Was it who she thought it was? Could he be alive o? Those thoughts flooded her mind as she continued to run. She couldn't breath as she ran as fast as she could but she didn't care, she had to get to the office to see if it was really him or if she was just imagining things.
As she skidded around a corner she heard more portraits screaming at her to be quiet but she continued to ignore them as she ran. She could see the corridor that she had been pacing earlier and then she saw the entrance to Verto and Her mothers offices. She yelled the password and then climbed the stairs two at a time. When she got to the door it was locked and she couldn't hear anything on the other side, but her gut feeling told her that this is where they were. She tried to bang on the door but it didn't work very well. After about five minutes she finally lost patience and waved her wand and the door burst open with a loud bang. She knew that she had startled everyone in the room but she didn't care. She ran past the others in the room and then stopped in her tracks as she saw him.
He was lying there motionless, his face was all cut up and he looked almost unrecognizable, but she knew it was him in her heart. She wasn't sure if he was alive until she looked at his chest and saw that it was moving up and down. She let out the breath that she had been holding in and then burst into relieved tears.

He hadn’t slept that evening; it was many hours after the staff gathering and even longer past the attack. He sent word to his most trusted of companions to the location the letter arrived from in hopes that the boy mentioned was indeed Ace Clearwater. Strolling around, his wand light came with the grumbles of a few of the portraits in his office demanding he stuff his wand somewhere that few would have the nerve to speak of towards Alexander. He decided worrying and lack of sleep would not help their cause, Ace would hopefully show up the following day. “Nox” the light hung as a shadow and then was no more, turning on foot he headed towards the staircase
The door swung open, three figures emerged from the staircase floating a body towards the desk. “You’ve found the boy I assume…” their entrance into the office caused the lanterns to ignite themselves, the office now illuminated in a bright golden light that was greeted by the great displeasure of the portraits Silence was ushered over the whole room with one look by Alexander towards the previous incumbents.
The body was set on the desk, moaning, still deep in a sleep as the door sealed itself shut as each of them took a seat. “I sense the grim around this boy, Alexander, I don’t know if he’ll last.” The witch spoke up first, stashing her wand away into her robe, pulling her hat off as a sign of respect “I ….” The intrusion into his office was met by another student, sobbing over the boy’s body, unable to control her-self
The intruded, though young was met with three wands pointed towards her until Alexander motioned to put them away. “Madam, if you’d please retreat away from the body. I don’t think the tears will do any particular healing at the moment." The wizard spoke, pulling her away though she fought his grip and breaking free she soon found herself kneeling at the body, stroking his arm wanting him to so badly wake up

She couldn't believe how horrible he looked. His face was all cut up and covered with blood . He laid there motionless but every now and again he would groan or whimper in pain. She continued to cry as she stood next to him. She barely noticed when the others in the room pointed their wands at her, she wasn't afraid of them . She knew Verto wouldn't let them hurt her, and all she cared about right now was Ace. If they ended up hexing her then so be it but until then she was going to keep where she was. She did however notice when one of them grabbed her and tried to pull her away from Ace. This time she fought back and got herself out of the mans grasp.
She nealed down next to Ace and held on to his arm, slowly moving her hand up and down it. It was slightly cold and it laid there limply. She sobbed as she continued to stare at him. He didn't look like the person that she had known for so long, he looked like a bruised and broken child. She heard the lady behind her say " he might not make it through the night[". Beth rested her head against Ace's arm after she heard her say that and continued to sob.
"Please wake up , please Ace. You can do it , just open your eyes , please. You can get through this , your strong i know you are. You can fight this. Please open your eyes , please." She whispered to him between sobs." PLEASE" she screamed it this time and then just rested her head back on his arm. She knew everyone in the room was staring at her and she waited for another of them to try and yank her away from him.
She could see her mother from the corner of her eye as she walked into the room and headed over to Verto. She didn't really care who was around her at this point all she wanted was from him to wake up and be ok. She didn't want him to die, they were supposed to be friends forever. This wasn't supposed to happen , he wasn't supposed to be on the verge of death.
"Please don't die Ace. I cant do all this without you. Stay with me don't go please." She whispered only to him. He still remained still . She continued to cry into his arm, as she felt someone lift her up and hug her. She knew right away it was her mother.

[ Lena stood in the doorway watching everything that was going on. She took a step forward when the man tried to pull Beth away from Ace but then stood where she was as Beth got away and nealed down beside him. There were no doubts anymore that it was Ace Clearwater laying on the desk.Even if he didn't look like himself. Her heart absolutely broke as she watched her daughter sob her eyes out of his body. Tears began to slide down her own cheeks as she listened to Beth beg him to open his eyes.
She slowly walked over to Alexander and hugged him before she whispered to him. " Alex, he needs to be taken to St. Mungos before he..." but she stopped and then shook her head. " All I'm saying is we don't know the extent of his injuries and he could be a lot worst then what we see. He needs professional medical help as soon as possible, before he takes a turn for the worst" When she had finished whispering to him she moved to his side and they both just watched Beth still cry by Ace. She didn't know what she could do to help her daughter through this time. She had never ever seen her like this before and it scared her a little.
She knew that she wasn't meant to hear what Beth whispered to Ace but she did. At this point Lena walked over and pulled Beth up by her arms and held her as she cried. She did this so that Verto could give instructions on getting Ace to St. Mungos. " Shhh....its going to be alright. He will be fine Sweetie i promise. It will be alright , you've got to calm down and breath before you hyperventilate. Breath slowly , there you go , its alright" She whispered to her daughter as she held her. Beth continued to cry but it had slowed down a notch and she wasn't shaking as bad anymore.
Lena looked down at Ace and silently prayed that he would make it through the night. By the look of him he was in really bad shape and she didn't know how much time they had before he gave up the fight. More tears slide down her face as she continued to hold Beth. She then turned to look at Verto waiting for him to announce the plan.

Twirling his gray facial hair in his hand, thinking quickly he rejected the idea to send Ace to St Mungos. “No, that would not be the wisest decision. The Ministry has heightened security and in no doubt that they would be alerted the moment a Hogwarts student was transferred there. Of course we could spend the time to alter his appearance, and place a few of our own there but that is unneeded. Yes, please go and fetch me Professor Sicoft at once, he can mend his wounds and heal him. Also alert the nurse at once, and bring me the charms professor I think we shall require her services at the moment.” He ushered the three wizards and witch out of his office, quickly mentioning where each of the professors could be found
He shut the office door with his hand, pulling his hair back he offered a seat to Lena and her daughter as Ace laid now on a cot that appeared in his office. “He’ll be alright; he’ll be on the mend for quite some time. An utter shame, he was a bright quidditch prospect but I fear his hands will never quite be the same.” He spoke, taking a quick look at his hands before taking a seat behind his own desk

A pounding on the door broke through Professor Ariosto's sleep, and as she groggily awoke, someone had entered and was calling her name. Sitting up, she looked around and saw a man there, to wake her up. "Professor, You are needed in The headmaster's office immediately, Please hurry as fast as you can." Then man then left, as Arisoto stared after him before hurriedly getting up and running over to her closet.
Grabbing a random robe, she threw it on over her night clothes, crammed a hat on her head as she ran out of the room, making sure she had her wand. Thoughts were going throughout her head. 'What has happened? Are we under attack once more? Has there been news about the young Clearwater boy?' Her thoughts went in circles as she hurried her way up and down staircases, trying to get to the Headmaster's office without waiting for the stairs to change.
The paintings all around her grumbled about being so rudely awoken during the night, some shouting threats after her as she made her way down the corridors.
Soon she made it to Verto's office and said the password before going up and entering, fixing her hat that was askew. ' What i-" Her words were caught in her throat as she saw the young boy laying on the cot.
Walking over she stared down at the boy, he being barely recognizable. She could barely stand to look at the boy, cursing the one who did this, silently within her head.
Walking back over by the others, she nodded her head, but didn't say anything.

Cracks and thuds were heard in the mist of night, this place felt like a distant nightmare but it was too realistic. Ace nestled there starring into the blackness of pre dawn; establishing his location as some sort of overgrown field. Swirls of light rushed through the night sky, back and forth exploding in each direction, reminiscent of tanks battling each other in a war. The sky seemed to melt, dashing around wildly were the stars you’d expect to see at night. The mist thickened and what had once been burst of lights flinging across the field had transfigured into creatures, tall bony creatures slowly marching, marching for no other reason but to march. It felt quite eerie as they marched through the field, paying no mention to Ace if he had not really been there.
Perhaps Ace was no more there then he was at Hogwarts, but something intrigued him about these figures, they seemed to simply walk in slow rhythmic movements. The moon swung back and forth to keep the pattern of the creatures walking, was this key for the unclothed Ace to get up and walk alongside them or was he to fear these creatures. Unanswered questions scared him the most, unsure of where he actually was.
The creatures halted in unison, nothing hindered their advancement but something appealed them to stop. As soon as they had appeared they vanished, leaving no trace behind not even the cloth robes they had been dragging in their lengthy arms. They were easily compared to giants, something you’d expect to see but they weren’t giants, they were rib-caged walkers of the night. Flashes filled the field; the field was no longer a field but a hard surface to rest upon for the time being. Was this real or had it simply been the imagination playing a cruel trick upon the injured. The hard surface had no feeling, his hands were either without the sense of touch or this place was with out any sense of reason. Faceless figures walked past the naked boy, paying no attention to him though that would be undelivered as emotions were unfound in their empty faces. Perhaps if the boy got up and demanded answers he would receive some sense of direction to where he was but that was a hope only shortly lived as the scene began to dissolve once again. The cold air rushed through his hair, his skin covered in every inch by the liquid that he had be plummeted into. It wasn’t exactly water yet it could have exactly been water, it was but a substance of liquid that his body had been floating in. It was cold, he could sense that or at least what he thought was the sense of feeling. It was an empty something in which he simply bobbed up and down for the longest time, simply hoping for some sort of reason to all of this, but it would never come.
For a moment he thought he had seen someone in the distance, a crack was heard and he turned around and there she was. A goddess of beauty, nude as her supple breasts bobbed in the liquid in which they both stood. Something was different about her though, while here beauty was nothing one could describe she remained ugly. Unkempt, aged but yet beautiful, here looks were trickery beyond any sensible imagination even a wizards. She spoke not a single word, and with that she sunk into the water as ace called after her but it wasn’t really vocalized, nothing left his mouth. Ace could only watch and hope she’d return to him, the beauty he had seen there had been teasing him and he knew it.
Many thousands of winged creatures fluttered into the water in a swooping motion as Ace was no longer stuck naked in the liquid he had been transfixed into the muck of mud. He slipped and trudged through the muck trying to escape but the more he moved the longer the distance became, like an endless circle. Three red lights came out of the ground, halting any more movements with the third knocking him into the darkness and with that he heave and awoke into the surroundings of a familiar place. He was back, back at Hogwarts back in the security and familiarities of being with those he cared for.
He was slow to bring attention to himself that he had actually awoken from the sleep like state he had remained for nearly a day and a quarter. It was only time they’d notice he was awake, so he kept his eyes closed as tight as he could only peering through them to get a glimpse of Beth or one of the others. He was in no pain despite being abused and torn apart, the only pain felt was his heart wanting to so badly jump up and yell surprise I’m alive and well but he’d take as long as he could until then

Post by Alixas Koritsu on Jan 4, 2008 2:31:05 GMT -5
Alixas tossed and turned, drifting in the twilight between being awake, and being asleep. She could sense everything around her. The girl in the bed across from her, sneaking out of her bed to wander the halls, most likely to go snog behind a statue, the curtains billowing slightly from the slight wind outside. An owl flew by the window making a soft hooting sound.
Coming close to the waking point, she woke herself up and sighed. She sat up, looking around before throwing her covers back, and placing her feet on the cold hardwood floor. She stretched as she stood up, her wrinkled sleeping clothes falling back into place, he muscles flexing slightly under the strain as she stretched. Yawning, she walked to her trunk and pulled out some clothes and a robe. Quickly she walked to the bathroom and changed. Leaving her bed clothes on her bed she slipped on some shoes and left the dormitory.
Descending the stairs quietly, she left the common room, the portrait calling after her about not waking her up again. Alixas simply ignored her and made her way through the corridors. Corridor after corridor she walked, paying no real attention to her surroundings.
Only after a painting yelled at her for being out while commotion was going on did she notice. Turning to the painting she inquired softly. " Whatever do you mean?" The painting seemed to think it over before going on. "Well theres been alot of commotion going on. Students and teachers and even three people carrying a cot or something went by here, waking us all up. Alixas gasped and started off without another word. what was going on she wondered. Her thoughts were jumping, had they found Ace? She skidded to a halt in front of the Headmaster's office and actually yelled the password, before running and going into the room, the door ajar from earlier entrants, Looking around she saw Ace laying on the cot, walking over she made herself look at him , willing herself not to cry, yet she did anyway. "No..." she whispered softly, turning as the tears spilled over she saw Beth and practically ran over to her, hugging her tightly.

Beth stood leaning against Vertos desk and continued to cry. Her mother had calmed her down a lot but still not completely. She watched everything around the room as it was going on but it all seemed to be moving in slow motion to her. Verto and her mother were talking quietly to each other along with the other teachers. The peacock that was perched in the corner cocked its head and then began to clean its feathers again.
She tried her hardest not to think the worst every time she looked over at Ace but it didn't work. In her mind she could see him taking his last breath and she could even imagine his soul floating away from his body and into nothingness. Each time she thought about this she shook her head and then wiped away the tears that continued to flow freely from her eyes.
She turned her attention back to her mother and Verto but she couldn't hear what they were saying. She strained her ears trying to make out even the slightest sentence but it was no use so she watched their lips and got the gist of their conversation. They were giving the charms professor the up to date and then giving her the instructions on what to do . Each time the Professor nodded and looked over at Ace with a worried expression on her face.Every time Professor Arisoto looked at Ace, beth did as well. Her gaze would lingered on him for a few seconds before she had to look away because all she could keep imagining was him dying. More tears slide down her cheeks and she sniffled every now and again trying to breath through her nose, but gave up that fight quickly.
In her mind she began to plot what she would do to the ministry . She would see to it that they paid for what they had done to her best friend. She saw the minster lying dead a top his own desk and she saw all the hit-wizards lying around his desk dead as well. Septimus lestrange was hanging by his thumbs pleading for forgiveness in her day dream and then she watched him die slowly. She shook her head again to erase those thoughts from her mind and for a minute she thought she had completely lost it. She had never thought things like that before but this was a different and deserving time.
Beth's head snapped around as she saw Alixas rush through the slightly open door. She watched her as she walked over to stand above Ace. She knew if she started to cry that she would begin to bawl even harder and thats exactly what she began to do . She watched as Alixas turned around and almost ran at her to hug her. Beth hugged her back and they both stood there crying into each others shoulders. " They say they don't think he will make it through the night Alixas. He cant die, he just cant" she sobbed as she pulled away from the hug. She looked over at Ace and for a split second she thought she saw his eyes slightly open. She looked around to see if anyone else had seen it but no one else was looking at him.
She slowly moved away from Alixas and walked over to him and knealed down next to his cot. He was still in the position he had been in when they brought him in, the only difference was he was now on the cot and not on the desk. More tears slide down her face as she looked at him. There was so much dried blood on his face that she just wanted to wash it off but she knew it wouldn't be a good idea. She put her hand on his arm again. She knew she had seen his eyes open for a second, but another part of her said " you were just seeing what you want to be happening." She wiped away a few more tears from her cheeks with her right hand . " Please wake up Ace, Please" She whispered, as more tears slid down the exact place on her face that she had just wiped dry.

"I'd much rather not be wearing a wet jacket, thank you very much." He was finally willing to allow himself to appear awake He had come back to the real world the same way he had left, joking and in a jolly mood. He smiled feebly, unable to talk much more then after his opening sentence he just simply lie there for a moment or two before allowing her to give him a hug. For some odd reason he had not recalled being at the Ministry, it had only been when she told him about what had happened he recalled the previous events. “I suppose you lot missed me then, you no, it wasn’t a vacation for me either, though I’d rather fancy the idea of going on a holiday.” He gave a slight nervous chuckle; he had not noticed the state of which his hands were in
Perhaps it was better if no one had made mention to the state of his hands, while the bones were mostly healed little of them remained straight, they were most certainly unable to ever catch a snitch. Magic could only do so much for them, magic had broken them with the darkness of the Ministries power so they were all but at the state they would be the rest of his life. Through out all the emotions and pain that would be the hardest tear to left rolling from their cheeks, the rationalizations quidditch was over.
Ace didn’t have much to say, but he was greeted by a few familiar faces and a few he hadn’t recognized. Beth took her place at the end of his coat, gleaming in the happiness of his return to real life.

Alixas heard him talk and literally ran over to Ace, not believe her own eyes or ears. He was awake! She waited til Beth was done hugging him adn then hugged him herself, smiling, her tears still streaming but now they were tears of joy.
"I knew you'd be alright. You wouldn't die, cause then you couldn't pick on me anymore." She joked to him as she pulled back, standing next to Beth.
She hugged Beth as well then moved back to her eat on the other side of the room, and sat there, wiping at her face,

Professor Arisoto watched as The young girl, Alixas, came into the room and saw her friend laying upon the cot. She could only imagine what this must feel like to the young girls who now sat on the other side of the room, crying and upset for their friend.
Arisoto stared at the young boy, laying almost completely still upon the cot, wondering about what exactly this boy had gone through.
Her attention was brought back to the Headmaster as he began filling her in on what had happened before she arrived in the office, though their conversation was brought short as something unexpected happened.
"I'd much rather not be wearing a wet jacket, thank you very much." Everyone looked over as Ace said this. They had thought that he was close to death, and even if he didn't die, they didn't expect him to be awake yet. Arisoto smiled as she watched the young girls take turns at hugging Ace, smiling brightly to themselves. The air in the room lifted slightly and didn't seem as gloomy and heavy. Alixas made her way over and sat close to Arisoto, smiling to herself still, while wiping at her face. Smiling down at the young girl, the charms professor handed her some tissues.
